Summer Art Camp!

June 18th – August 10th, 2012

Summer Camp registration is open! Through a wide range of mixed media activities, this summer let your child explore, imagine and create through art! Camps are offered in 2, 4, 6, or 8 week sessions. New projects offered each session. When registering, please indicate which Session Dates you prefer.

Summer Art Camp at TAC runs from JUNE 18TH – AUGUST 10th, 2012. Focused personal attention is given to each budding artist, so class sizes are limited. All supplies and materials are included in the enrollment fee. Lunchtime, between-class care provided upon request for $10 per day.

Creative Kids Pre-Camp

Explore, work and play with paint, clay, collage and crafts. Discover art through storytelling and games. Enhancing the imagination, each day includes a different theme and personal expression. Supplies included.

The Joy of Creativity Art Camp

Ceramic Art Camp

All Clay – All Afternoon! Creative and fun, yet also an intensive and structured study of hand building, wheel throwing, and glazing techniques. Make decorative and functional objects like animals, masks, wind chimes, pots, vases, secret treasure boxes and more! Dress for messy fun and bring an old shirt or apron. Price includes clay, glazes, and kiln firing.

Teen Art Intensive

1:00pm – 3:30pm      MWF      Ages 14-17
This class will cover the fundamentals for the young adult with a serious interest in art. We will start with line and culminate in painting. Use a variety of methods including pen/ink, charcoal, pastels and acrylic on canvas. Create tone charts, explore figure drawing and anatomy using a full size skeleton, and color theory with a complex color wheel. A beginning knowledge of realism vs. abstraction will be gained.

Figure Drawing and Painting for Teens

Discover how to draw the human form from live models. Students will explore gesture, anatomy, line and tone using a variety of tools. Each class will include varied pose lengths. Appropriate for all levels. Model fee included.

Portfolio Development:
Prepare your high school student for a college portfolio review

Tuesdays, July 10th, 17th & 24th,   6:00pm – 8:30pm   HS Students, Grades 10-12
Attention inspiring young artists! Do you need help preparing your portfolio for college? This summer, high school students serious about art, will have an opportunity to further develop or create an art portfolio for college admission. Students will be introduced to a wide range of subject matter, art techniques, critiques, and media exploration through drawing, painting and mixed media. Each student will receive individual help specific to building his or her portfolio. In addition, we will cover many aspects specific to the portfolio process, such as artwork selection, documenting of artwork, scholarships opportunities and how to present your portfolio to college-admissions officers.

2 Day Figure Drawing & Painting Workshop Weekend Intensive

Saturday & Sunday, July 14th & 15th   11:00am – 3:00pm   Ages 13 & Up
Spend the weekend learning how to draw the human form from live models. Explore gestures, anatomy, line and tone using a variety of tools and pose lengths. Appropriate for all levels.

ENROLLMENT AND POLICIES

TAC strongly encourages advance registration as camps fill quickly. If a camper withdraws from a camp session two weeks before the start of a session, tuition will be refunded less a $50 fee. If a camper withdraws from a camp within two weeks of the start date of the session, there will be no tuition refund.
