Silk Painting, Batik, Surface Design

Linny Freeman is a unique artist and designer of paintings on silk fabrics and painted silk fashion accessories for women.  Her vibrant silk fabrics are designed and sewn into scarves, shawls, ponchos and jackets.  She uses brilliant colors and bold contemporary designs to create original pieces of fine art and wearable art.

Linny has a B.F.A. degree in painting and printmaking from the Kansas City Art Institute.  She also studied graphic design at Kendall College of Art and Design, where she achieved  her second B.F.A. degree.  Linny worked for several years as a graphic artist and designer for production and animation studios specializing in multi-media presentations.  In her work on silk, she loves to combine the elements of  graphic design and fine art into a single piece. She is currently a faculty member of The Evanston Art Center and The Art Center in Highland Park.  She has taught workshops for Stevenson High School and Highland Park High School.  Linny’s work has been on display at many different art and fashion shows throughout the Chicago area.
