WELCOME to THE ART CENTER
Founded 50 years ago as the Suburban Fine Arts Center, we welcome you to The Art Center, our home at 1957 Sheridan Road. Join us for classes and workshops in the visual arts, gallery exhibitions, special events and performances.

Whether you’re just beginning your creative journey – or are an established, working artist, you’ll enjoy our small classes, well-equipped studios, and outstanding faculty. Our commitment – through teaching, exhibitions and cultural programming – is to bring the arts to you and all members of the North Shore community.

Adult and Youth Programs
Classes and special workshops are offered during the day, evenings and on weekends. All ages and skill levels are welcome to participate, unless noted otherwise.

Exhibition Programs
Two galleries at The Art Center offer monthly exhibits of contemporary and traditional visual art, presenting artists from Chicagoland – and around the world.

Gift Shop
The Art Center gift shop features the fine art and craftwork of area artists. Please stop in anytime to see the new items and featured monthly artists. Family Members and Affilates of the Center are entitled to a 10% discount in the Gift Shop.

Location
The Art Center is located in downtown Highland Park, at 1957 Sheridan Road, just north of Central Street. Central Street is the exit to reach the Center from Highway 41 or the tollway.

Parking
The Art Center parking lot is located immediately next to the building and has spaces available for student parking. Parking is also available around the corner on Park Ave. -- free 4-hour street parking east of the parking lot, or in the municipal lot for the price of the meter. Three-hour parking is now available on Sheridan Rd. north of Park Ave.

Facility Rental
The Art Center has space available to rent for meetings, corporate events, and parties. Make it an event to remember in one of our beautiful galleries. For rates and information call 847-432-1888.

Join us! The Art Center is an independent not-for-profit organization supported by memberships, donations and grants.

Become a Member
More than 2,500 families and individuals support The Art Center through an annual membership contribution. Membership levels range from $30 to $5,000 and each contribution is needed and appreciated. Because tuitions cover only a portion of our costs, membership is an essential source of revenue. For more information about contributions, call The Art Center at 847-432-1888.
