Voices
and Visions
Standing on the Bridge Between Health and Disease
A Juried Exhibition this October at The Art Center - Highland
Park
in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Organized by Caren Helene Rudman, Artist / Curator and
Activist for Women's Health and Hereditary Cancer Awareness
Exhibit Description
Most people can say they know
someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Women everywhere face the
fear of diagnosis every year as they enter radiology for mammograms or doctors
examinations. This exhibit will give voice to those of us who have been
touched by women's health, who may live in fear, or are previvors or survivors
of women's cancers. In pulling voices and visions together, we hope to empower
those of us who live on that bridge between health and disease.
CALL FOR ENTRIES
Art that expresses the concerns
that women face in dealing with breast or ovarian cancers. Whether it is living
with hereditary risk factors, carrying the BRCA mutation, or having lived with
or been touched by a loved one who has endured women's cancers, TAC calls for
artwork that expresses these emotions. Submissions due September 15, 2010

CALL FOR STATEMENTS
Invitation to hear the many voices
of women who have undergone breast or ovarian surgeries. Whether elective for
prophylactic reasons, or recommendations because of positive diagnosis, women
who decide on surgeries endure life changes, both physical and emotional. Answer
the question: how do you detach from your body as you make these daunting
decisions?
Please submit your statement in the body of an email, with
